Zoo plans low-key day for Irwin anniversary

AUSTRALIA Zoo will open on the anniversary of Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin's death, but efforts will be made to keep it a low-key day.

September 4 marks one year since Irwin was fatally speared by a stingray barb while filming one of his famous nature documentaries at Batt Reef, in far north Queensland.

The Real Bindi Irwin

Nearly a year has passed since Steve Irwin died. His daughter Bindi has her own zoo, TV series, magazine column and fashion label. She's home-schooled, wears the trademark khaki clothes, lives at Australia Zoo much of the time, tours the world performing and has had crews filming her regularly since birth.

Getting By Without Steve - Wes Mannion Speaks Out

This is an excellent and lengthy interview. It is definitely worth a read. Personally, I'm happy for any news as talk and articles seemed to "dry up" about 3 - 4 months after Steve's passing. I hope there is more to report on as Steve's memorial approaches. I'll especially be looking for good that has been done in Steve's name since his absence.
