"There's not a day I haven't thought about Steve simply because he's been so much a part of my life,'' Mannion, the director of Australia Zoo, said in an exclusive interview ahead of the first anniversary of Irwin's death on September 4.

This is an excellent and lengthy interview. It is definitely worth a read. Personally, I'm happy for any news as talk and articles seemed to "dry up" about 3 - 4 months after Steve's passing. I hope there is more to report on as Steve's memorial approaches. I'll especially be looking for good that has been done in Steve's name since his absence.
My best to you all!

Its been 5 years now, I still miss o'l Stevo! Animal planet has really taken a dive lately and well Steve(and Wes) could have powered Animal planet viewership alone! All there is on is the animal cop shows, its really sad to see the "wild" dissapear from the station! Steve was the engine behind Animal Planet and other documentaries! The power or his message and the power of his joy were so endering to me! Steve loved these creatures the way God intended for them to be loved. I think that's why so many different species put up with being handled by Steve! I've been a reptile and epsecially a snake fan growing up in New Mexico all my life, especially since the day that rascally little bull snake bit my dad when I was 7, I've been fasninated by snakes!
God bless you all
I agree with you completely. Steve left the world some big shoes to fill. Maybe his inspiration will bring about a successor one of these days. Thank you for the comment. :)
